OUR FACILITIES

Our Community embraces solitude and isolation in order for us to fully immerse ourselves into contemplative prayer. A means by which we are able to truly discover the workings of Christ and at the same time making ourselves obedient for his plans. Integral with this prayer are the daily habits of work and sharing with others within our community.

CATERING

Our dining room has seating for 50 guests, we serve home-cooked and locally sourced food and are able to cater for certain dietary requirements on request. For those special events our catering team can provide a celebration meal during your stay. Please let us know if you wish further details of this menu and associated costs. Fairtrade tea, coffee and other hot drinks are available in mini kitchenettes located on all the floors and you are welcome to use them. The Grange will have the capacity to welcome people on a self-catering basis as it will have a fully equipped dining and kitchen area. Our staff are friendly and welcoming and will make your stay a special one.

 

THE GRANGE

Originally built as the coachmen’s house for the Walthall estate before coming a family home, the Grange has been redesigned to serve contemporary needs. The newly renovated property contains 4 ensuite bedrooms, a sitting room, a fully equipped kitchen and dining room. It is also home to the new St Oscar Romero Prayer Room which contains a specially commissioned stained glass window by Alan Davis. As well as increasing the capacity of the centre the Grange has been designed to enable individuals to make private retreats or take respite breaks.


The new facility will give people the option of dining in the main centre or availing of the self catering facilities. If you would like to enquire about the possibility of staying at the Grange please do not hesitate to contact us. All are welcome.

Prayer Spaces

There is a Chapel with seating for around 30 people. There are also prayer spaces available in the main building and in the Grange, here you can take the opportunity to take time out and meet with God.

Meeting Rooms

In our main building we have two conference rooms with Wi-Fi and a computer point. There is also a streaming webcam available. You are welcome to bring your laptop, iPad, or other electronic device.


In the Francis Morrisey OMI building, there will be a multi-purpose conference room to seat 50 people, with Wi-Fi and kitchenette – ideal for day groups.

Other rooms can be used for breakout groups as needed.

Relaxation & Reading

The Francis Morrisey OMI building will contain an art space. This is an opportunity for people to express their creativity in a fun, gentle and relaxing way. The main building will have a hydro-therapy room, this will allow retreatants the opportunity to relieve stress and cleanse the body in a calm and soothing environment.


We also have a library with over 1000 books available for you to use during your stay. There is also a lounge area with a trust bar available and seating area if you should require. We also have a log burner in the main foyer for those winter nights.
